Timothy Bowling, APRN, FNP-C
Timothy Bowling, APRN, FNP-C, is a dedicated family nurse practitioner with a strong background in primary care and a passion for serving patients across the lifespan. Raised in Clay County, Kentucky, Timothy has a deep appreciation for the healthcare needs of rural communities and is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families who need accessible, compassionate, and high-quality care.
Timothy has been part of Family Health Care Associates since 2018, where he has served in multiple clinical roles, including medical assistant, registered nurse, and now advanced practice registered nurse. This progression has allowed him to build a well-rounded understanding of patient care, clinical operations, and the importance of developing trusting relationships with patients. His experience in family practice has strengthened his commitment to preventive care, chronic disease management, patient education, and evidence-based treatment.
He earned his Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of the Cumberlands in 2022, followed by his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2023, and his Master of Science in Nursing in 2025. As a certified family nurse practitioner, Timothy focuses on family practice and StemWave treatments, with a special interest in helping patients manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and other long-term health concerns. He is passionate about empowering patients through education, early intervention, and individualized care plans designed to improve health outcomes and quality of life.
Outside of his professional role, Timothy is married and family oriented. He enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and serving in ministry with his family. His faith, family values, community roots, and desire to help others continue to guide his approach to healthcare. Timothy strives to provide care that is not only clinically sound, but also compassionate, respectful, and centered on the needs of each patient.
Heather Hammack, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Family Health Care Associates is proud to have Heather Hammack, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, serving patients at our London, Kentucky office. A lifelong Laurel County resident, Heather is deeply connected to the community and passionate about improving the health and well-being of families throughout the region.
Heather earned her nursing education through Somerset Community College and the University of the Cumberlands. With more than 20 years of healthcare experience, she has worked in a variety of settings, including intensive care, public health, school health, neurosurgical care, utlization management and family practice. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Driven by a lifelong goal of providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare in rural Kentucky, Heather is dedicated to delivering personalized care that addresses each patient's unique needs. She specializes in family medicine and pediatric care for children ages 3 and older.
Heather's approach to healthcare is holistic and patient-centered, integrating evidence-based Western medicine with lifestyle-focused and preventive care strategies. She takes a conservative approach to treatment when appropriate and incorporates current functional medicine research to support overall health and wellness. In addition to her clinical practice, Heather also oversees healthcare services for a local school system.
When she is not caring for patients, Heather enjoys serving at her church, camping, hiking, and exploring Kentucky's scenic backroads with her family.
Ashley Short, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C
Ashley Short is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly eight years of clinical experience. She is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care and helping patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their health journey.
Ashley has a special interest in caring for patients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and chronic health conditions. Her dual certification allows her to take a whole-person approach, recognizing the important connection between physical and mental health.
Ashley is currently accepting new patients and is committed to creating a welcoming environment where individuals and families can feel comfortable discussing their healthcare needs.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs, thrifting, and being outdoors.
