Hello
My name is Sheryl Partin,
Hello, my name is Sheryl Lynn Wilson Partin, APRN, NP-C. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with Family Health Care Associates and have worked with the company since 2012. I was born at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middleboro, Kentucky. My mother passed away at the age of 25 with Breast Cancer and Lymphoma and I was only 3 years old. I was then raised by my maternal grandparents; Mary Ellen Smith Wilson and Thomas Bronell Wilson of Page Cutoff in Pineville, Kentucky. They adopted me and raised me as their own, they were my mom and dad. I grew up on Page Cutoff with my family and cousins and have fond memories of my childhood on the creek. The creek will always be my home and deep down I do miss how it was when I was growing up. I attended Page Elementary School and still have best friends that have been with me since grade school and have supported me thru all the aspects of life good and bad. My cousins I grew up with were like my siblings since I technically was an only child and I enjoyed swimming, playing in the mountains, playing Nintendo and Atari, Barbies and GI Joes just anything involving time with them. I attended Bell County Middle School and started my love of Cheerleading and gymnastics. I then went on to Bell County High School, our cheer team was the first Cheerleading group in our area to go the National Competition in Orlando Florida and continued my love of Cheerleading. I was on the Student Council during my high school years and served as the Student Council President. I Graduated with a Commonwealth Diploma from Bell County High School.
I started taking a few classes at Southeast Community College in Middlesboro, Kentucky then transferred to Lincoln Memorial University with a Presidential Scholarship and during school I received the Harlan B. Sanders Kentucky Colonel Scholarship. I served as the Kentucky Nurses Association Vice President for our local chapter my first year of nursing school. The following year I was elected to the President of the Kentucky Nurses Association. I graduated Cum Laude with an Associates in Science in Nursing Degree from LMU. After Graduating, I started working at Baptist Regional Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky and passed my Nursing Boards and worked for years as a Registered Nurse there. I decided after getting married and having our first baby I was ready to start going back to school to pursue a higher degree and career. My daughter was 6 months old when I started back to school to work on my Bachelors degree. I graduated Cum Laude at EKU with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. I continued to purse my studies at EKU and was accepted into the Family Nurse Practitioner tract. I continued to work full-time and had two more children during my Masters program while at EKU and attending school. I graduated in 2010 Cum Laude with my Masters of Science in Nursing as a Rural Health Family Nurse Practitioner.
Since I was in elementary school I have always wanted to be in the medical field. I have always wanted to help people and try to make a difference. My father that raised me passed away from a heart attack when I was 16 and that was the definite decision in pursing the medical field. I always wanted to do something medical, I have always had a love and passion for science, and it felt like what I was meant to do. Even though when I started out going to college my tract and what I started pursing changed due to family obligation and life, I am where God wanted me to be and try daily to do my best to provide the best care I can for my patients and community.
I have been married since 2004 to Robbie Partin and we have three children together, Makenna (16), Deakon (14), and Kordell (13). We also have another daughter that is our daughter’s best friend that lives with us that we love like our own, Mckenzie (18). Our Children are active in sports, my husband coaches and I try to help with sporting events and activites as I can and be their biggest supporter. My children is why I pushed myself to pursue my career. I try to push my children to the best of my ability in sports and with school. I was the first in my family to obtain a Masters Degree and I hope that my children will pursue whatever career or path that their heart leads them to. I enjoy being around any type of water, the beach, the lake, the pool. Just being outside, cooking, spending time with my family and friends is what I enjoy.
I have enjoyed being a Rural Health Family Nurse Practitioner and have had patients that started as my patient since I first graduated and started working. Being thru the phases of patients lives and trying to help in every aspect of their health is what I enjoy. I enjoy seeing my patients of all ages and trying to do my best to provide the best care possible in our rural area and try to go above and beyond for everyone I take care of. I have worked in many locations since starting with FHCA and my work feels like my family and I have put a lot of my heart, sweat, and tears into this company and taking care of my patients.
