FHCA - "Helping you manage your health through health promotion and disease prevention."

About Family Health Care Associates

FHCA was founded by Dr. Gina Good-Buchanan in 2002. Her passion for helping people led her to open the first facility in her hometown of Barbourville. However, her first passion brought her to realize her calling as a healthcare professional.

Dr. Good attended Knox Central High School and enjoyed participating in pageants, modeling, and fashion shows. High Schools across the country require students to do volunteer work in the community, so Dr. Good volunteered to be a Candy Striper at a local hospital. This is where she developed the passion to become a Doctor. She would assist nurses by taking vital signs, filling patient requests, and connecting with patients.

She decided to attend Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned her degree in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, and then went on to earn her Doctorate at Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. She was inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Good is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the AANP.

As one individual, she could only help a small number of people and wanted to help more. Her vision is to help communities across Kentucky understand the value of managing their health with easily accessible health care facilities. These facilities are staffed with health care providers that are friendly, knowledgeable, and share Gina's passion.

FHCA now offers 12 clinics, 10 being in rural communities across Kentucky, and continues to grow. FHCA also provides services to schools around the state of Kentucky, ensuring children and families receive the best possible care available without having to travel far.

Dr. Good continues to make her mark in the Health Care Community by ensuring that FHCA achieves the level of excellence that anyone wants from their health care providers. Her mission is to hire extraordinary providers, nurses, and support staff to accomplish patient-centered care through "helping you manage your health through health promotion and disease prevention."

While focusing on her passion for helping people, Dr. Good has managed to build a beautiful family. She has two grown children, five grandchildren, and two bonus children, and adores them all. She co-manages a Registered Black Angus Cattle farm with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling when she can.
